The First CMS Developed at Carusel Brand

This was the first CMS project I worked on during my time at Carusel Brand. Back then, my expertise leaned more heavily toward frontend development, so the backend was developed with the help of a dedicated contractor. This project served as my official introduction to building full-stack, multilingual web applications and marked my first close encounter with the Laravel framework.

The Implementation of EditorJS

A key proposal I made right from the analysis stage was to completely abandon traditional, monolithic WYSIWYG editors (like those found in WordPress or Joomla, which I had used during my university projects) in favor of a modern, block-based system: EditorJS.

To me, this choice felt far more ergonomic, especially on mobile devices, while offering major architectural benefits for developers. Being entirely block-based and utilizing a dedicated rendering pipeline, EditorJS makes rolling out global visual updates or building custom, bespoke blocks incredibly straightforward.

While this transition was a significant shift for the university’s content administrators, they adapted rapidly. In fact, all subsequent projects delivered to the university have utilized this exact setup. Thanks to its flexibility and ease of operation, I continue to integrate EditorJS into all new projects requiring a rich text editor today.

Intelligent File Management System

Another notable feature is the asset management subsystem. In the legacy application, files were frequently uploaded as duplicates across different directories, which often led to operators leaving outdated document versions live on pages where content should have been universally updated. The new file manager explicitly tracks and displays exactly where each document is being used across the platform, significantly streamlining the maintenance and auditing process.

A Robust CMS with a Bespoke Frontend

Beyond these specialized modules, the platform operates as a robust, enterprise-grade CMS that includes:

• A visual menu configuration system featuring drag-and-drop actions.
• Granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), allowing administrators to restrict user permissions exclusively to the content of a specific faculty.
• An optimized global search engine.

To deliver a fluid, SPA-like (Single Page Application) user experience, several areas of the administration backend leverage Laravel Livewire.

The public frontend was coded by me completely from scratch, using pure CSS and native JavaScript (Vanilla JS). It features a series of clean, fluid animations whose crisp execution I am proud of to this day.
